Gospel singer Opeyemi Babalola has opened up about a deeply emotional experience that left him in tears and feeling humiliated.
He recounted how a wealthy employer once treated him in a way that made him feel worthless, a moment that fueled his determination never to remain poor in life.
He took to X to share his story and wrote: “I once worked with a wealthy man. One day I was to get something done at the bank ‘FOR THE COMPANY’, there are no cars available and he is heading to town too. The only option is for me to join him. Reluctantly, he said I should go into the car but I can not put on my shoe because I will dirty his car.
“From Oba Ile to FCMB bank in Oba Adeshida in Akure, I sat at the back of the car with my shoes on my laps. I cried that night I promised myself that I will not die poor and I will never treat people bad.
“Till today, I respect everyone who comes my way, irrespective of the age. I only hate APC and their supporters because those ones are terrorists.”
