Nigerian billionaire and energy mogul Arthur Eze, CEO of Atlas Oranto Petroleum, made headlines at the launch of A Journey in Service, the autobiography of former military president General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB). Eze’s generosity was just a fraction of the overwhelming support Babangida received, with donations reaching nearly N17 billion by the end of the evening.
Aliko Dangote led the charge with a monumental N8 billion pledge, committing N2 billion annually over four years.
Abdulsamad Rabiu followed closely with a bold N5 billion donation.
Other prominent figures, including business tycoon Folorunsho Alakija, also contributed, though some preferred to keep their exact figures undisclosed.
Beyond the spectacle of wealth and goodwill, Babangida’s book launch left a lasting impact, with his revelations sparking discussions across Nigeria’s political landscape.
