Apple is expected to launch the iPhone SE 4 as early as next week.
According to a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, “the company expects to announce the device as early as next week, ahead of it going on sale later in the month.” Given Gurman’s prolific leak history, there’s a solid chance we could see the new phone soon. Apple may launch it without a special event, possibly revealing it via a press release as it has with some other, smaller hardware launches.
Rumours suggest that the device will look similar to the iPhone 14, ditching the iconic home button and featuring a notch with Face ID. Gurman also suggested that Apple will ditch the Qualcomm modem for one that’s designed in-house. The report also indicates that the handset would use the A18 silicon, which is what’s in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. It should also be able to use features like Apple Intelligence, create Genmojis and use Image Playground. This handset would also make the change to USB-C.
Gurman also reports that the handset would cost the same as the iPhone SE third-generation, starting at around $429 USD (roughly $612 CAD).
