Ipwich Town completes the relegation list for the 2024/25 Premier League season

Ipwich Town quest in the 2024/25 Premier League season finally came to end following their defeat against Newcastle United at the Saint James’ Park.

Ipswich Town has 21 points with a -41 goal difference, sitting in 18th place which is a position that they have occupied for the most part of the season. Southampton and Leicester City have already been relegated from the Premier League while West Ham and Wolves are both above Ipswich Town.

Alexander Isak, Dan Burn and Will Osula scored the goals that sent Newcastle third in the table and confirm Ipswich Town’s relegation from the Premier League to the Championship.

This is the first time in Premier League history all of the relegations were confirmed with as many as four games to play. It’s also the first time all three promoted teams went back down in consecutive seasons.

This is also the first time in Premier League history, the three promoted sides ( Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton Town) have gone straight back down in consecutive season ( 23/24, 24/25).
