Barcelona fans were left heartbroken after its forward player, Lamine Yamal, has been ruled out with injury for the second time in less than four months.
The injury news was confirmed on the club’s official website on Monday, December 16, 2024, after the disappointing defeat against Legannes in the league. Barcelona revealed in a statement 17-year-old winger underwent medical tests on Monday, which confirmed a grade 1 injury to a ligament in his right ankle.
The club added that Yamal is expected to be out of action for approximately three to four weeks as he recovers.
The statement said,
“The first team player Lamine Yamal received a blow to the right ankle during the game against CD Leganés on Sunday.Tests carried out on Monday have revealed that the player has a grade 1 injury to a ligament in the ankle. The player is expected to be out for 3 to 4 weeks.”
The injury to Lamine is a big blow to Barcelona as they get into the busiest time of the season.
