It was a sad day for the supporters of Leicester City after their relegation from the 2024/25 Premier League season was confirmed after their game against Liverpool.
Leicester City came into the game against Liverpool at the Kings Power Stadium on Sunday, April 20, 2025, with a mandate to beat the awaiting Premier League Champions. They were points behind West Ham and have only a maximum of 18 points available to win from their six remaining matches.
The foxes were 19th on the table with just 19 points behind already relegated Southampton. The Saints became the first team to be relegated from the 2024/25 Premier League, when they lost 3-1 at Tottenham Hotspur on April 6, 2025.
This is the second time in three seasons that the foxes will be relegated fŕom the top tier of English football. However, Leicester City will hope that they can gain promotion immediately to the Premier League when they play in the Championship during the 2025/26 season.
