We could get powerful new iPads and MacBooks this fall.
Apple will release two M5-powered devices before the end of the year, the iPad Pro and the MacBook Pro.
The details come from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who has a strong track record when it comes to reporting on upcoming Apple hardware.
As for exact dates and times, it’s unclear. Gurman indicates that the M5 iPad Pro is on track for production in the second half of 2025, which means we’ll probably see it anywhere from September to November. Apple rolled out the M4 iPad Pro back in May 2024, so this seems like a pretty quick turnaround. According to the leak, the iPad Pro won’t sport the Apple in-house modem. The company is working on M6 versions with in-house modems, which won’t launch until 2027.
The M5 MacBook Pro will apparently launch in the fall, similar to previous releases. Additionally, Gurman doesn’t believe this model will get an overhaul, and Apple will wait until 2026 with the M6 model.
While Mark Gurman has a great track record when it comes to leaks, it’s worth noting that this is leak, and Apple’s plans may change down the line.
Rumours suggest that Apple will also introduce the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, AirPods Pro 3, and more later this year.
