Manchester United face Premier League rivals West Ham United in a pre-season friendly at midnight on Sunday.
Ruben Amorim’s side were held to a 0-0 draw by Leeds United in their first friendly of the summer, and they now begin a tour of the United States with a match against the Hammers in New Jersey.
The game could see new signing Bryan Mbeumo feature for United for the first time, with the Cameroon international having joined from Brentford earlier this week.
United have also added Matheus Cunha to Amorim’s attacking options this summer, but it appears that they are still on the hunt for further reinforcements.
According to French outlet L’Equipe via GiveMeSport, United have held talks about a possible move for young Metz striker Idrissa Gueye.
The report claims that the Manchester outfit have held discussions about a possible move for the teenager after scouting him in recent months.

Gueye, 18, joined Metz from the Generation Foot academy in January and has since scored four goals in 17 matches for his current side.
The report claims that the young striker has attracted interest from several clubs and is expected to depart Metz before the current transfer window closes.
German giants Borussia Dortmund and Championship side Southampton are said to be among the long list of clubs that are interested in signing the Senegal international.
Gueye – who made his senior international debut at the age of 16 in 2023 – is valued by Metz at around £17 million, despite playing just 20 times for the French side.
He is under contract until the end of the 2028/29 season, but it appears extremely likely that he will in fact depart his current club this summer.
