Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 on Sunday to lift the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Champions League holders had gone into the match in New Jersey as overwhelming favourites, but Cole Palmer put the Blues ahead early on with a calm finish.
The England international then produced a remarkably similar finish to double both his and Chelsea’s tally, before sliding the ball through to Joao Pedro to add a third.
Chelsea – who won the competition in its previous format – become the first team to win the revamped 32-team tournament.
Enzo Maresca adds the Club World Cup to the Europa Conference League that his side won back in May, and the West London side look in fine form heading into the new season.
Off the pitch, it appears that one member of Maresca’s squad is attracting interest from a fierce rival.
According to French journalist Nabil Djellit via GiveMeSport, Manchester United are interested in Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.

The 24-year-old has endured a difficult few weeks, being sent off in his most recent Premier League appearance before also being dismissed against Flamengo in the group stage of the Club World Cup.
The report claims that the Red Devils are one of a number of Premier League sides that have enquired about the availability of the Senegal international, who appears to have fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have signed both Pedro and Liam Delap this summer, with the former having netted three times in his last two matches for the club.
The report claims that Chelsea will allow Jackson to leave for a fee of around £60 million this summer, although it is unclear whether or not United would be willing to meet that valuation.
Jackson joined the Blues from Spanish side Villarreal back in 2023 and has since scored 30 goals in 81 games for the club across all competitions.
