Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has given an update on the injury situation of Joshua Zirkzee ahead of the Europa League game against Lyon.
The Portuguese international confirmed that Joshua Zirkzee will be out for the remainder of the season while speaking at his pre-match press conference for the match. According to him, the forward player is expected to miss the rest of the 2024/25 season after he suffered a hamstring injury.
He said,
“He is out for the season, he will not play again this season, let’s prepare him for the next one. It is tough, he was improving in every aspect of the game. It is tough for any player but he has to be ready to recover.”

Who will Amorim select to replace Zirkzee?Manchester United will now rely on Rasmus Hojlund and Chido Obi-Martin who are the strikers for the remainder of the season. Hojlund has eight goals across 41 appearances in all competitions this season, while his 17-year-old Chido is yet to score for the first team.
