Mateusz Gamrot has his first assignment of 2025.

The UFC announced Thursday that Gamrot (24-3, 1 NC) is set to fight Ludovit Klein (23-4-1) in a lightweight contenders’ bout at UFC Vegas 107 on May 31.

This is a key matchup for Gamrot—currently tied with Rafael Fiziev for the No. 10 spot in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings—who has been teasing a fight announcement for months after potentially being tied to several notable names in his division. The 34-year-old is coming off of a split decision loss to Dan Hooker at UFC 305 this past August, a result that snapped a three-fight win streak for Gamrot. A former two-division KSW champion, Gamrot has gone 7-3 since joining UFC in 2020.

Klein, 30, has the opportunity to make a major jump in the rankings if he can get past Gamrot. Following a 1-2 start to his UFC career, Klein made the move from featherweight to lightweight and has gone 6-0-1 and won his past four fights. In his most recent outing this past September, Klein won a unanimous decision over Roosevelt Roberts.
