Miami Dolphins starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was highly critical of how his teammates were going about their business during the week ahead of the Dolphins’ 29-27 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.

Tagovailoa’s comments drew immediate responses from a number of different people, including a former Super Bowl-winning player.

Tua Tagovailoa Hears Criticism from Andrew Whitworth
After the loss, Tagovailoa stood in front of the reporters gathered and immediately did not hold back when apparently calling out his teammates. According to him, his teammates either were late or didn’t show up to players-only meetings.

But Andrew Whitworth, who won a Super Bowl while playing for the Los Angeles Rams and is now part of Amazon Prime’s NFL coverage, just didn’t let Tagovailoa get away with his comments. “Woof… That’s on you bud,” Whitworth wrote on X.

Woof…. 🙈

Whitworth was not the only person calling out Tagovailoa after hearing his post-game comments. Former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho is calling for the franchise to take some drastic actions in the coming week.

“The Dolphins have to fire their coaches after these statements, Tua also just incriminated himself,” Acho wrote on X. “He doesn’t have the respect of all his teammates. If players are skipping player only meetings, there is not a healthy reverence of leadership or authority inside the walls.”

Tagovailoa didn’t have a great game against the Chargers himself. For the game, he completed 21-of-32 passes for 205 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. So far this season, Tagovailoa has 1,213 total passing yards for 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also has a QBR of 50.1.

Entering Sunday’s game, according to the PFSN NFL Offense Impact metrics, the Dolphins’ offense had a 77.3 Offense Impact Score and graded out with a C+. Tagovailoa is missing one of his big receiving targets as wide receiver Tyreek Hill is out for the season with a knee injury.

With the loss, Miami falls to 1-5 on the season, and Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel might be on the hot seat regarding his job. McDaniel hasn’t been drawing a lot of praise for his on-field work, while his off-field comments don’t sit well with the fanbase. It might be time for a change in South Florida pretty soon.

Tagovailoa, though, will have to take actions that silence his critics. It will be a lot of work for him and his teammates to do together.
