A Nigerian man took to social media to express his heartbreak after his wife appeared in an interview with online personality Egungun, where she claimed to be single—even though they have been married since 2022 and share a four-year-old daughter.
The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @ChuksEricE, who posted the clip showing the woman during the interview.
In the footage, the woman confidently said, “I’m single. I’ve always been in relationships but I’m just chilling now.” She also stated, “I’m 22. I need a kind man, generous and fine.”
After the video gained widespread attention, the woman’s husband spoke out to reveal the truth behind her statements.
He shared a message online explaining that the woman in the interview is indeed his wife and that they have been married since 2022. He added that they have a daughter together.
According to him, her family has refused to return his dowry, which has been a source of distress for him.
He wrote, “Three days ago, I was receiving messages from friends all over, telling me they saw my wife on Egungun’s page, where she said she is a nurse and single. Meanwhile, we have been married since 2022, and she has a 4-year-old daughter for me.”
“I live in Asaba and she is living in Lagos. Her parents have refused to return my dowry, and this has been eating me up. I have all the evidence you need.”
At the time of writing, the woman has not publicly responded to the allegations.
