Goel joined Flow this month after serving most recently on the regional leadership team at NYSE-listed telecom infrastructure firm American Tower, according to a release. He is to lead Singapore-based Flow’s next phase of growth after the company developed six data centres across Asia Pacific with 170 megawatts of current and near-term planned capacity.

“We are delighted to welcome Sanjay to lead Flow in its next chapter of expansion,” said Phi Le, partner and co-head of real assets at PAG. “Sanjay has a proven track record in scaling businesses and driving outperformance. His depth of experience and industry expertise make him the ideal leader to successfully drive Flow’s business forward.”

Goel’s appointment follows last year’s exit of former Flow CEO Amandine Wang, who joined fellow Singapore-based rival Empyrion Digital as chief commercial officer in October. Le had stood in as Flow’s boss in the interim.

Two Decades at Nokia
Goel’s 30 years of management experience includes expertise in telecommunications, IT and engineering, having held several senior positions in Asia and Europe.

At American Tower, Goel served as executive vice president and president for APAC from 2021 until the end of March this year. He previously spent 20 years at Finnish telecom giant Nokia, where as president of the global services business group and operations he took responsibility for strategy, P&L management and global services operations across more than 100 countries.

As CEO of Flow, Goel aims to expand the platform’s operational capabilities by drawing on PAG’s established presence and relationships in key APAC markets.

“We expect demand for data centres to continue to outpace supply, especially in Asia Pacific’s high-growth markets, which presents significant opportunities for Flow,” Goel said. “Our goal as a hyperscaler-grade data centre platform is to deliver reliable, scalable and innovative digital infrastructure solutions for customers, both hyperscalers and enterprise alike.”

Oon and Reijgersberg Aboard
Flow announced two other appointments to its senior leadership team, tapping Andrew Oon as chief commercial officer and Onno Reijgersberg as chief business operations officer.

Before joining Flow, Oon worked at Stonepeak-backed data centre platform Digital Edge, where he was vice president of sales and responsible for customer and market acquisition and business revenue in emerging Asian markets. Previously he served as senior director for service providers and interconnection for Asia Pacific at digital infrastructure giant Equinix.
