What Did Randy Moss Say About Tyreek Hill’s Legacy?
Hall of Fame WR Randy Moss went viral yesterday for his comments about Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. In an interview with the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Moss was asked about where Hill stacks up among all-time great NFL receivers.
The legendary wideout didn’t hold back in his response.

“He’s nowhere all-time. Where is he [sic] at in today’s game? Tyreek Hill is probably top five. I put him top five,” Moss said.
Those are harsh words coming from someone who knows what it takes to be considered among the greatest receivers ever. Moss acknowledged Hill’s current talent but drew a clear line when it comes to historical rankings.
How Did Jaylen Wright Defend His Teammate?
Miami running back Jaylen Wright, who the Dolphins selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, was asked about Moss’s comments in an interview with NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.”
Wright didn’t hesitate to back up his teammate. He says Hill is a game-changer who draws the most attention from defenses no matter where he lines up, making him key to Miami’s offense. Wright also believes Hill will be in the Hall of Fame.

“Tyreek draws a lot of attention,” Wright said. “Wherever he’s at, he’s going to draw attention, people got [sic] respect him. I’m definitely sure that Tyreek can be somebody that’s in the Hall of Fame.”
Wright’s defense of Hill shows the respect the speedy receiver commands in Miami’s locker room. The young running back sees firsthand how defenses game-plan around Hill’s explosive ability.
Where Does Tyreek Hill Really Rank Among All-Time Receivers?
The debate between Moss and Wright raises the bigger question about Hill’s place in NFL history. Right now, at 31 years of age, Hill ranks 42nd in terms of all-time receiving yards and sixth among active players.
Hill holds the same ranking in all-time receptions but is currently tied for 30th all-time in receiving touchdowns. Based on those numbers, it’s tough to argue he belongs in the top 25 or top 30 just yet. However, if he plays another three to five seasons, he can climb higher on the all-time list.

Hill has been one of the NFL’s top receivers since breaking out in his second season with the Kansas City Chiefs, and his dominance has continued since being traded to Miami. In 2023, Hill led the league with 1,799 receiving yards, the seventh-highest total in NFL history.
Wright deserves credit for standing up for his teammate, and while Moss’s comments may have come off as harsh, it’s understandable why the Hall of Famer questioned Hill’s current place among the all-time greats. The numbers tell a story that’s still being written.
