South African police in an official report have confirmed the arrest of two individuals in connection to the death of late rapper AKA.

For the first time since the shocking 2023 death of South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoan, authorities have publicly identified the alleged masterminds behind the attack.

Brothers Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, long sought in connection with the high-profile killings, have been extradited from Eswatini to South Africa after months of legal complications.

Their return marks a significant turning point in the long-running investigation, bringing to seven the total number of suspects now in South African custody.

Police describe the arrests as a major breakthrough, confirming that the Ndimande brothers are also being probed for two other violent cases linked to KwaZulu-Natal’s taxi industry.

The pair had fought extradition for months in Eswatini, delaying progress in what police have called a coordinated assassination on Durban’s Florida Road in February 2023.

Tony Forbes, AKA’s father, welcomed the development, saying he was “relieved that all key suspects may finally stand trial together,” and praised investigators for their transparency during the complex cross-border process.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) says it remains confident in its case, which spans three dockets and 24 charges, and has maintained a heavy security presence around the court amid concerns for public safety and intense media interest.
