Police have confirmed the arrest of suspects in connection to Lil Kesh’s robbery and stabbing incident.

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two prime suspects linked to the violent attack on Nigerian singer, Ololade Keshinro, popularly known as Lil Kesh.

The suspects, identified as 25-year-old Mathew Adewole and 31-year-old Mukhtar Muhammad, were apprehended in Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano, following an intelligence-led operation.

According to the vanguard, the duo allegedly assaulted the artiste at his residence in Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos, on August 19, 2025, leaving him with deep cuts on the neck in an attempt to kill him.

Shortly after the incident, Lil Kesh addressed his fans on X, assuring them of his recovery.

“Life threw me a curveball, but I’m safe, healing, and blessed to be here. I’m grateful for the love, support, and prayers,” he wrote.

In an update released on Saturday via X, the Kano Police Command announced that ₦2.12 million, traced to the robbery, was recovered from the suspects. Both men have since been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.

Police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna, disclosed that Adewole admitted to carrying out the attack on the singer before transferring ₦2,120,000 from his account using his mobile phone into Muhammad’s account.

Haruna described the arrests as a “major breakthrough” made possible through intelligence gathering and community collaboration, in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

He added that the Command remains committed to strengthening its intelligence framework and sustaining community policing strategies to tackle violent crimes effectively.
