Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Olalomi Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has broken his silence following the viral video showing him in a heated scuffle at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
The Zeh Nation boss addressed the incident in a series of videos shared online, explaining that he did not start the fight but was provoked by a group of drivers while waiting for his pickup.
According to Portable, he had just arrived in Port Harcourt for a show and was standing outside the airport with his team, waiting for their car to arrive. During this time, some commercial drivers reportedly approached him, asking to give him a ride. When he declined and told them he was waiting for his own pickup, the drivers allegedly began filming him and mocking him.
He claimed they called him “stingy” and accused him of refusing to give them money, despite his attempts to ignore the insults. Portable said the taunting continued until an immigration officer noticed the situation.
The singer explained that he only reacted after the harassment became unbearable, insisting that he was merely defending himself. In his words, he was not fighting airport security or passengers but confronting the drivers who provoked him.
Portable also addressed a part of the viral clip where he appeared to hold a charm, saying he brought it out only to scare the men off. He added that he told the drivers to “go and meet President Tinubu” if they were looking for money, emphasizing that disrespecting the president could lead to trouble.
This is not the first time the street-hop star has been involved in a public altercation. Just a few weeks ago, Portable was also captured on video in a fight with some men in Ikeja, Lagos, after which he shared his own version of events online.
