Operation Masquerade will bring a new operator, limited-time events, ranked challenges, and more to the mobile tactical shooter.

The latest operator joining the game is defender Castle, which will bring the current roster to 25 characters, and will be available to unlock through the new battle pass. His gadget is identical to the one he uses in Rainbow Six Siege X, enabling him to deploy an armoured panel on doorways and windows.

Attacker Glaz will also see changes to his main gadget, the Thermal Flip Scope. On top of boasting clearer visuals, enemies seen through the scope will now be marked, revealing their location to allies.

Various events will also be held every week leading up to the global launch. Storm the Castles is available in week one, bringing a 3v3 version of Secure Area featuring a full team of Castles on defence with respawns enabled.

Weeks two and three will bring the Invitational Doubles, a 2v2 Bomb mode on either Restaurant or Clubhouse maps. The event takes place as a celebration of the Six Invitational 2026, the crowning event of the Rainbow Six Siege X esports scene, which will be held in Paris, France, from February 2nd.

The fourth week will see the return of Trophy Hunt, a mode similar to Kill Confirmed from Call of Duty, where players collect trophies from eliminated foes to gather points. According to Ubisoft, playing these modes will earn players seasonal rewards.

A new batch of ranked rewards will return in the new season, featuring a unique skin for attacker Ash. Additionally, Best of 7 Ranked makes a comeback following community feedback, introducing rotating rewards every weekend, including battle pass XP boosts.

Other challenges include the Castle Enlistment event, which is centred around the new operator coming with the season. Finally, Mining Madness rewards Obsidian for completing event challenges, which can be exchanged in The Forge section of the in-game shop for Dark Crystal weapon skins.

Does Rainbow Six Mobile have an Esports Scene?

Unlike Rainbow Six Siege X, the mobile shooter has yet to establish an officially organised esports scene since it was unveiled back in 2022.

Despite this, fans have come together to run smaller tournaments for Rainbow Six Mobile long before its global launch. According to data platform Liquipedia, events such as the Fusion Winter Cup and Nexo Cup have seen early access players face off in a tournament format.
