During Thursday’s practice word spread at Dallas Cowboys training camp that offensive tackle Terence Steele was missing due to an evaluation for an ankle issue.
It took about 24 hours for some more word to materialize, but NFL Network’s Jane Slater finally was the one to break the news and reported on Friday that Steele has a high ankle sprain. Slater noted that it is not considered serious.
Sources tells me it’s a high ankle sprain for #Cowboys T Terence Steele. I’m told it’s not considered a major injury and will only have him sitting out a few days. Good news for the lineman

While it is nice to see Slater noting that this is not a serious thing, high ankle sprains are often injuries that can linger for NFL players. There is still well over a month to go until Steele would need to be ready for the Week 1 opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, but this is hardly the kind of thing that you want to be circling.
Hopefully it is truly a low level situation and not something that Steele will have to deal with beyond the next few days.
