The Philadelphia Eagles continue to sign bargain free agents, with the latest coming from an NFC East rival. Former New York Giants cornerback Adoree’ Jackson will sign with Philly, following Saquon Barkley’s lead.

Jackson is a nice addition with Darius Slay now with the Steelers, Isaiah Rodgers with the Vikings, and James Bradberry being released. The CB room in Philly is loaded with talent, but were thin on experience with Slay and Bradberry’s departures, so Jackson will be a needed veteran among the group.

The 29-year-old defender has experience playing multiple positions in the secondary (mostly outside, some nickel experience, occasional safety snaps) and spent his eight seasons split between the Titans — who drafted him No. 18 overall out of USC — and then the Giants. Over the course of his career, he’s started 82 games, recording 404 total tackles, 61 passes defended, six forced fumbles, and one interception. He was pretty much an immediate starter in the league, but then last season in New York was only first team five of his 14 games.

Jackson also has returning experience. His 56 career punt returns have resulted in an 8.4 average. He’s returned 27 kickoffs as well.
