Nigerians react to Rivers’ new political crisisThe speaker’s outburst has started generating mixed reactions from Nigerians. Below are some of their reactions:

Toochukwu said that means the recent defection of Fubara to the APC was not influenced by Wike:

“Simply put, it’s not Wike that gave the directive for Fubara to move to APC. It is now crystal clear. I think that this time around, it may be the voice of Fubara and the hand of Wike detractors inside or close to the Presidency. Wike should better calculate more before he moves because all these supposed powers are at the instance of the President.”Governor Siminalayi Fubara faces fresh backlashes from Rivers lawmakers

“Which Approval again? Didn’t the last administrator get the budget presented, scrutinised and approved through the national assembly during the emergency rule? They should get out and rest for the 2026 budget, Biko; they’re not the only HoA in Nigeria.”Adebanji commented:

“All this noise is just for show, a way to pretend they are working. At the end of the day, they all belong to the same group, and their leaders will eventually settle the matter behind closed doors. Public fights like this are mostly for appearances, not real accountability.”Ira tweeted:

“The powers of a governor are almost like those of the president. Except the governor doesn’t use it well. I will advise the house to take it a bit slowly. Especially now that the governor has jumped ship.”See the video of the speaker here:
