We have reviews of both the ROG Xbox Ally X and Xbox Ally, which you can read to learn more about each handheld. But if you just want to know which one to buy, we’ve got you covered as well.
MobileSyrup editor-in-chief Jon Lamont broke down who should get the Xbox Ally, which also applies to the Xbox Ally X. You should get one of these handhelds if you:
Don’t already own another handheld.
Have a vast library of PC and/or Xbox titles.
Want to use Game Pass (which is only available on Windows handhelds).
Enjoy playing games that aren’t demanding and/or doesn’t mind playing at 720p/30fps (or, for the Ally X, 1080p/60fps).
Frequently travel and are often without reliable internet (e.g. on planes or in hotels).
If you’re one of these people, then the Xbox Ally should work great for you, or the Ally X if you’ve got the cash to splurge and want better performance.
