According to Fabrizio Romano, AS Roma have approached Liverpool to discuss a potential transfer of Kostas Tsimikas from the Merseyside to the Italian capital. The Serie A side would like to sign the left-back on an initial loan, while the Premier League champions prefer a permanent transfer straight away.

Tsimikas has spent most of his time as a backup option for Andy Robertson on the left defensive flank, and he was always eager to express how happy he is in that role. However, Liverpool signed Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth this summer and the Serbia-born Hungary international appears to have moved ahead of both Robertson and Tsimikas in the pecking order, leaving one of them surplus to requirements in Arne Slot’s squad.

Robertson was tipped to leave for a while with Atletico Madrid interested in his services, but that move eventually fell through and now it seems Tsimikas could be the one to leave Anfield.

Tsimikas joined Liverpool from Olympiacos back in 2020, and since then, the 29-year-0ld Greece international has made a total of 115 appearances for the club, without scoring in a competitive match, though he has 18 assists to his name. There are two years left on his contract.
