Ebenhaezer Dibakwane passed away on Friday, 7 March.
Comedian and actor Ebenhaezer Dibakwane has sadly passed away.
The 31-year-old died on Friday, 7 March.
His brother, Lesedi Dibakwane, confirmed the news in a statement.
“Our hearts are broken as we announce the untimely passing of Ebenhaezer Dibakwane, beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, and celebrated actor and comedian,” he said.
He also added that further details would be shared in due course.
“Memorial and funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course,” he said.
His cause of death has not been revealed yet.

Ebenhaezer’s management, Pickled Ginger, also released a statement.
“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of celebrated comedian, actor, and writer Ebenhaezer Dibakwane. A friend to so many, he will be remembered for his off-the-wall humour, original style of stand-up comedy, and the joy he brought to audiences across South Africa. To know Ebenhaezer was to love him, and he’ll be sorely missed.
“The Dibakwane family appreciates the support that has been shown thus far,” the statement read.
The award-winning creative won the Savanna Comics’ Choice Newcomer of the Year Award in 2016.
In recent years, he’s also won the Savanna Comics’ Choice Award for Intermediate Comedian of the Year and received two other nominations.
He was also recognised for his writing skills with a SAFTA nomination for Best Achievement in Scriptwriting.
