Lerato Habiba Makgatho says she’s done dating politicians.
FORMER slay queen Lerato Habiba Makgatho is now interested in new people.
Habiba was known for dating politicians and blessers.
She now wants to get into the entertainment industry.
Habiba spoke to Daily Sun about her love life, history, and plans.
“I’ve been single almost two years now. I think I’m ready to date again. I think this time it will be a famous musician or actor. I’m done with politicians. It’s a dangerous game,” she said.
Habiba recently appeared on a podcast to discuss how she met the late finance minister Tito Mboweni and the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Minister Gwede Mantashe.
In 2019, she revealed she had been with both ministers, calling Mantashe a tiger in bed.
She told the SunTeam that she was only speaking up now because she was made to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
“It almost ruined my career and life because I was made to keep quiet for three years, no media gigs or talking about my relationships with the ministers. I was supposed to write a book, but they made sure it didn’t come out at that time.
“But they understood that at the end of 2024, I will need to bounce back and do certain things, and we agreed on the non-disclosure agreement. Now, I’m free to talk to the media about everything we agreed on because I am not muted anymore. I started being able to talk last year around winter. That’s why I disappeared from the spotlight,” she said.
Habiba revealed that she was still on talking terms with the Mboweni before he passed away.
“I was still in contact with Tito Mboweni because he was fond of my little one and helping financially. Gwede Mantashe is a good friend of mine. We still talk once in a while, but we separated a long time ago. I respect his marriage, and he respects my choices,” she said.

In 2022, she told Daily Sun that she had muthi that helped her attract rich men.
“Slay Queen muthi helped me attract the guy who bought me the R2 million house in 2022 after I separated with the ministers. But I stopped using the muthi because the guy turned out to be abusive and dangerous.
“I went separate ways with the guy and moved out of the mansion.”
She also clarified that she didn’t need muthi to attract wealthy men.
“Just to be clear, I never needed muthi to date rich guys. It just happened that I attracted them. Muthi is just a bonus. I went on a blind date early this year to find out the guy was an executive at IEC. So, I decided not to date him because I’m done with politicians, like I said,” Habiba said.
When the news broke in 2019, Mantashe was accused of trying to bribe two journalists to not write the story.
He hasn’t commented on it since.
Daily Sun submitted an enquiry to Mantashe’s team, but they hadn’t replied at the time of publication.
