President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Dr Zacch Adedeji, on his birthday, commending his transformative leadership of the 83-year-old revenue agency.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Thursday, the President praised Adedeji’s introduction of fresh ideas, adoption of global best practices, automation of systems, and upskilling of staff members.
“I salute the NRS Chairman for his visionary and charismatic dedication in restructuring, aligning and managing the revenue profile of the country”, the statement partly read.
He highlighted Adedeji’s historic achievement of meeting budget targets in the third quarter of 2025, noting that this performance has stimulated the economy for prosperity.
Tinubu particularly commended the NRS Chairman’s instrumental role in adopting the National Single Window, a transformative federal digital platform designed to streamline import and export processes, enhance transparency, and reduce cargo clearance time from 21 days to one week.
Adedeji brings extensive experience to his current role, having previously served as a senior member of Procter & Gamble’s management team and as Commissioner of Finance for Oyo State. He also served as Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council, where he established the National Sugar Institute.
Before he was appointed FIRS chairman in September 2023, Adedeji served as Special Adviser to the President on Revenue.
Tinubu prayed that God would grant the NRS Chairman more years of good health, wisdom, and strength to continue serving the nation.
