Tobi Amusan reaches 100meters hurdles final in Tokyo World Championships

World record holder Tobi Amusan has advanced to the finals of the women’s 100m hurdles at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

The 28-year-old booked her spot in the final on Monday, September 15, 2025 clocking a time of 12.36s. She finished ahead of Nadine Visser in 12.45s and Pia Skrzyszowska with 12.51s.

The 28-year-old has been at the center of attention before the start of the competition when she called out the Athletics Federation of Nigeria for sending inappropriate kits for her.

Amusan’s performance has raised expectations as she heads into the final, where she will be looking to reclaim the world title she won in 2022.

Others in the final include, Grace Stark, Masai Russell, Danielle Williams, Ditaji Kambundji, Nadine Visser, Devynne Charlton, and Pia Skrzyszowska.
