The Kansas City Chiefs and their fans can dream of the NFL’s first Super Bowl three-peat for one more week.

Coming off their bye, the Chiefs welcomed the Houston Texans to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for Saturday afternoon’s AFC Divisional Round Game. Patrick Mahomes and company bounced the Texans out of the playoffs by a final score of 23-14, advancing to the AFC Championship Game for the seventh straight season.

The Texans made the Chiefs work for that win, as Houston pulled to within a point of Kansas City after a touchdown drive in the third quarter. But a bit of “Mahomes Magic,” along with some tough running from Kareem Hunt, helped the Chiefs hold on.

As for who the Chiefs will face in the AFC Championship Game, they await the winner of Sunday night’s highly-anticipated game between the Buffalo Bills and the Baltimore Ravens. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens head to Western New York for that game in a matchup between two dynamic offenses, and two MVP favorites in Jackson and Bills passer Josh Allen.

Kansas City has faced both teams this year, defeating the Ravens 27-20 back in the NFL’s annual Week 1 opening-night game to kick off the season. Kansas City lost to the Bills 30-21 in Week 11.

A year ago, the Chiefs won in Buffalo, and then in Baltimore, to advance to Super Bowl LVIII.
