For a while, it looked like Lamar Jackson would make his return from a hamstring injury to be the Baltimore Ravens’ starting quarterback in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears.

But not only is Jackson going to be out again. The Ravens are going to make a different QB change, too.

For the first two games Jackson has missed with his injury, Cooper Rush has started. Rush was signed this offseason to be Jackson’s backup after his time with the Dallas Cowboys behind Dak Prescott.

But on Sunday, Rush will remain the backup.

Why is Tyler Huntley starting QB for the Ravens? The Ravens decided that if Jackson wasn’t playing, they needed to try someone other than Rush.

Enter Huntley.

Huntley spent some time this summer with the Cleveland Browns but didn’t stick, and he signed to the Ravens’ practice squad early in the regular season.

He’s a former Ravens starter who even served as a Pro Bowl fill-in as a Baltimore representative.

He also is a chance the Ravens had to take.

In Rush’s two starts, the Ravens scored a total of 13 points. That isn’t going to get it done.

The Ravens are 1-5, and they need to win. Huntley is their last roll of the dice.

Jackson is reportedly going to come back for Week 9’s Thursday night game against the Miami Dolphins. It’s up to Huntley to send the Ravens to that primetime clash with some momentum.
