We’ll also get a look at Beast of Reincarnation, a new action-RPG from Pokémon maker Game Freak
Xbox will air its next Developer_Direct presentation on January 22, and it will feature extensive looks at Fable and Forza Horizon 6.
Since 2023, Xbox has been hosting these pre-recorded streams, which offer deep dives into a few games from their developers. This year’s Developer_Direct is especially notable because the two aforementioned first-party games are both made by British studio Playground Games. While the team is best known for its work on the Forza Horizon series, it’s also tasked with ushering in a new era of fan-favourite Xbox series Fable, so it will be especially interesting to see what’s in store for the new fantasy RPG.
In addition to those two games, the Developer_Direct will also provide a look at Beast of Reincarnation, an original action-RPG from Pokémon maker Game Freak. It’s worth noting that previous years have had surprise games beyond what was confirmed, like Ninja Gaiden 4 and Ninja Gaiden Black in 2025. While Xbox didn’t tease any surprises for this year’s Developer Direct, there’s always the possibility that one could appear.
In general, 2026 should be a big year for Xbox, especially since it’s the brand’s 25th anniversary. In addition to the aforementioned games, the company is also set to release Halo: Campaign Evolved, Vancouver-based The Coalition’s Gears of War: E-Day, and Clockwork Revolution, among other titles.
You can tune into the Xbox Developer_Direct on January 22 at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT via Xbox’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.
