Rapper Yung Miami has stirred up a storm on social media after accusing South African pop star Tyla of stealing the idea for her upcoming single, Chanel.
The City Girls rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, October 16, 2025, claiming that Tyla’s new track closely mirrors an unreleased song she had previously shared with the Grammy-winning singer.
“This girl really ran off with my song and ion know how to feel about it,” Yung Miami wrote, adding that she had personally played the song, Chanel for Tyla before Tyla began teasing her own version. The rapper followed up with another post saying, “Like….. Bitch I’m confused!” and later doubled down, writing, “Don’t matter it’s my mf song!!!”

— Yung Miami (@YungMiami305) October 16, 2025 The dispute centers around the lyrical theme of the word Chanel, with both songs reportedly featuring luxury-inspired hooks. Yung Miami claimed her version used the line “Take me to Chanel,” while Tyla’s teased track reportedly repeats “Put me in Chanel.”
Take me to Chanel > put me in Chanel
— Yung Miami (@YungMiami305) October 16, 2025 Tyla, known globally for her viral hit Water, is yet to respond to the allegations. She first previewed Chanel during a private fan listening event in July 2025, describing it as part of her WWP EP, a project meant to serve as a transition to her next album.
