A Lagos court has freed Nigerian singer and Marlian Music boss, Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, alongside his associate, Samson Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, and Owodunni Ibrahim, aka Primeboy, in connection with the death of fast-rising singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly called Mohbad

Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, sparking widespread speculation and allegations against Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and others. However, according to a report by Channels TV, the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) issued legal advice stating that the trio had no case to answer. Following this directive, Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje implemented the court’s decision to clear them of any wrongdoing in the matter.

Meanwhile, the court ruled that the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad before his death, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, alongside one of the late singer’s friends, Ayobami Sadiq, would face prosecution. They are to be charged for reckless and negligent acts, contrary to Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law, Ch C.17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

This development brings a new turn to the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s tragic demise, as legal proceedings continue for those still facing charges.
