The manager of Arsenal Football Club, Mikel Arteta, has given an update on the injury fitness of his first-choice defenders, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães.
The former was injured during the game against Chelsea, while the latter was injured while on international break with Brazil. Mikel Arteta confirmed that both players will be unavailable for some weeks after they both picked up injuries.
He said,
For William Saliba and Leandro Trossard, hopefully it’s a matter of days. For Saliba, this one is a very bizarre injury, but hopefully it will be a short time out”.
He also spoke about Gabriel’s injury. According to him, the Brazilian is slowly regaining his fitness.
“Gabriel Magalhães is doing very well, but it will take weeks to see him back”
Arteta also spoke about Kai Havertz’s injury.
“Kai Havertz is still weeks away. We are all desperate to have him. I mean, it is a player that, personally, I love so much for what he brings to the team, his character, his personality. I see him suffer, being outside”
Arsenal fans will hope that all these players return to fitness before the fixture congestion in December.
